Behind the success of the role of Nguyet Ha in the TV series "People Living Around Me" is a touching turning point in the life of People's Artist Lan Huong.

Before 1995, despite continuously achieving success on the stage with a series of major awards, People's Artist Lan Huong still could not fill the void in her heart.

In a conversation with Lao Dong reporters, People's Artist Lan Huong recounted that the torment and longing for her daughter (following her father abroad to settle down) along with the deadlock in keeping in touch with her daughter caused her to fall into a series of prolonged days of depression.

Everything only really changed when the opportunity to combine work and family appeared in the pre-Tet period of 1995.

Recalling the sacred turning point in her life, the female artist emotionally confided about the decisive reason for her to play Nguyet Ha in the movie "Those Who Live with Me".

People's Artist Lan Huong said: "That film carries a special mark, associated with my thoughts. At that time, before filming started, I had the opportunity to go to France to both combine work and find my daughter. With the support of many people, I went to Germany to find my daughter, and have reconnected with her after many years of separation.

That trip was also thanks to the Board of Directors of the Youth Theater who created conditions and sent me to attend a film festival in Paris. Immediately after the meetings in France ended, I immediately went to Germany to find my child.

After reuniting with her daughter in a foreign land, when returning to the country, happiness surged in NSND Lan Huong's heart.

She confided that before that, from 1990 onwards, although her career on stage achieved many successes with consecutive gold medals, the glory of her career could not fill the sadness in her heart.

Deep inside, she always lived in depression and endless sadness because of missing her daughter.

Therefore, the moment she found her daughter in 1995, looking at her little daughter who was once grown up, was like a miracle that reborn her soul.

It is even more complete when the female artist's ex-husband at that time also promised to create conditions for the two mothers and daughters to contact each other annually.

Finding happiness in her heart also marked a major turning point in NSND Lan Huong's career.

Previously, despite receiving many invitations from famous directors, People's Artist Lan Huong refused.

People's Artist Lan Huong shared, "I don't understand why, I always feel like I'm not photogenic. I was always afraid that I wasn't beautiful enough according to the strict standards of a main role in a movie at that time, which required a very sharp face".

However, right after returning from a trip to Europe, when her spirit was excited and happy after reuniting with her daughter, People's Artist Lan Huong received a movie offer from... her husband.

NSND Lan Huong's second husband is director, NSUT Tat Binh.

At that time, Meritorious Artist Tat Binh was preparing for the TV series project "Those who live by my side".

Thanks to her psychological state being filled with joy, Lan Huong did not hesitate to agree immediately. This positive spirit helped her overcome the fear of "not being photogenic", helping Lan Huong have more prominent roles in her career.

Along with the role of Ngoc Ha in the movie "Hanoi Baby", the role of Nguyet Ha in "Those Who Live Around Me" became the next successful turning point in NSND Lan Huong's acting career.

This experience brought her to maturity in art, shedding imitation to achieve the ability to "act as if not acting".

This is also a memorized lesson that People's Artist Lan Huong taught to later generations of students about the three stages of acting psychology of actors: going from instinct, mastering technique, and then using that skillful technique to return to the most authentic instinct of life.
