People's Artist Trung Anh helps the female lead of "Spring Village Women's Football Team" break away in television acting

Young actress Thao My has an impressive role as the daughter of NSND Trung Anh in the prime-time movie "Spring Village Women's Football Team".

In the prime-time TV series "Spring Village Women's Football Team", Thao My plays Minh - a young girl from the countryside who aspires to assert herself and pursues her passion for football, despite the barriers from family prejudices.

Notably, this is also the first project she has the opportunity to act directly with NSND Trung Anh - who plays a father who always has fierce generational conflicts with his daughter in the film.

Before becoming a "father-son couple" on the small screen, the two had a teacher-student relationship in real life. Thao My said that NSND Trung Anh used to be a lecturer directly guiding her at the television actor training class of the Vietnam Television Film Center (VFC).

Sharing with reporters, Thao My said that veteran artists in real life have a very gentle personality, often sharing life experiences as well as professional secrets with the younger generation.

Although the time spent studying directly is not much, the actress shared that she has realized the fundamental lessons that are turning points. That is the essential difference between acting on stage and in front of television cameras.

The actress analyzed that the drama stage often requires the actor to exaggerate emotions, fast tempo and highly estimated physical movements to convey to the audience sitting at a distance. Conversely, television cameras record each close-up angle, requiring the acting style to be realistic and ordinary. Actors must restrain their voices, control every small change in demeanor and expression on their faces instead of using too many figures.

I learned a lot of lessons even though I only studied one session with teacher Trung Anh," Thao My expressed about the knowledge that helped her reshape her acting thinking in front of the camera.

However, the distance from theory to reality in the film set is not easy at all. Right in the first scene where the two actors acted together, the script put the character Minh in a climactic situation: the two father and son argued fiercely leading to the decision of the girl to leave home.

Standing before a great artist with a lot of experience, and also the teacher who once taught her, the young actress admitted that she had been under great psychological pressure and was not completely satisfied with her performance.

Thao My frankly acknowledged: "Partly because that scene was very shaky, I was tense, and when I tensed, I couldn't immerse myself in the character. Right at that time, I felt that I didn't do well. The scene had to be re-recorded many times and although the director had approved it, I still felt it was not achieved. If I had the opportunity to remake it, I would prepare more carefully to play the role more smoothly.

Daring to look directly at the limitations in the psychologically heavy segment shows the receptive spirit of the young face. The actress sees this as a valuable practical experience to help her learn to relax, control her psychology and bring the character closer to television viewers.

Spring Village Women's Football Team" is a television film project exploiting the theme of rural innovation, revolving around the journey of overcoming family prejudices and social barriers of rural women to establish a women's football team.

Actress Thao My was born in 2004, from Lang Son and studied at Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema. Thao My attended the television actor class of VFC and was lucky to catch the eye of director Tran Trong Khoi - Pham Gia Phuong of "1 millimeter away from you".

The role of Minh in the movie "Spring Village Women's Football Team" is Thao My's first main role in a TV series.
