In a conversation with Lao Dong reporters, People's Artist Trung Anh affirmed that he realizes that he has many "weaknesses" in appearance, and even rhetoric. In the most difficult stage of his career, when he often only played extras, the male People's Artist once wanted to quit his profession and go abroad to work.
“I don't have a beautiful appearance (laughs). My voice (tales) is also not suitable for the stage. For the stage, a strong, loud, resonant voice is needed... , my tales do not meet the standards for stage voice. Now, many people often praise me for being young. Actually, because I am already... old since I was young. For many years, looking still like that, so sometimes people say I am "so young". I am most afraid of being praised for being handsome and praised for being young (laughs)” - People's Artist Trung Anh shared.
People's Artist Trung Anh has gone through the most difficult periods in the stage of the Vietnam Drama Theater. According to Trung Anh, it is his passion and love for the acting profession that kept him on stage, and together with the stage, he overcame difficulties and went through the ups and downs of the acting profession.
Later, when venturing into film, People's Artist Trung Anh became a prominent face of television dramas. He has a series of controversial roles with natural, diverse acting styles, transforming into many different types of roles.
People's Artist Trung Anh believes that artists in large theaters are all professional actors, well-trained, and well-educated. Precisely because they are trained and tempered, stage artists when switching to acting will have certain strengths in deepening, carefully researching characters, creating profiles for characters - thereby being imbued, and finding ways to recreate characters vividly on the screen.
When standing on stage, the artist has been tempered in both bravery and technique over the years. When making films, we bring that professional thinking with the ability to analyze scripts carefully, deeply dissect psychology, build multi-dimensional character personalities. The ability to transform flexibly to create clear differences between role types, not being stereotyped. Moderation in acting to know where to release energy, where to restrain to create depth for the frame" - People's Artist Trung Anh said.
Currently, after retiring, NSND Trung Anh is very busy with shows both on television and in cinema. He is receiving many invitations, in which NSND Trung Anh will participate in the large-scale investment project "Indus Asia Code" of People's Police Cinema, which will be released in April 2027.
People's Artist Trung Anh's full name is Bui Trung Anh, born in 1961 in Ha Tinh. He married a wife 10 years younger, has 2 children, a son and a daughter.
