On May 21, Phan Dinh Tung officially spoke out about the intellectual property rights dispute over the song "Happy Birthday Song" and 5 albums including "Nuclear", "Tung Chung", "Tung Thuan", "Tung Phong" and "Tung Teen".
The male singer said that for many years, he and his crew have chosen to remain silent with the desire that all issues are resolved in a spirit of goodwill. However, due to the prolonged case and the failure to reach a final agreement between the parties involved, he decided to speak out to protect copyright, related rights and intellectual property rights for music products associated with his career.
According to Phan Dinh Tung's sharing, there is currently a dispute between him and a number of individuals and organizations related to the establishment, exploitation and management of intellectual property rights of the above-mentioned works. These disagreements lead to disputes over ownership rights, commercial exploitation rights and revenue distribution on many international digital music platforms for a long time.
Notably, the male singer said that advertising revenue generated from the music video "Happy Birthday Song" on his official YouTube channel was once temporarily recorded by the platform system and distribution unit for the related party during the dispute process. This is also considered one of Phan Dinh Tung's most outstanding hits, associated with many generations of audiences and achieving large views on digital platforms.
After the complaint process and provision of legal documents, some related intellectual property rights have been restored. However, the male singer said that the case has not been resolved definitively to date. Revenue related to the works is being temporarily kept for many years by some platforms and distribution systems to wait for the final conclusion from competent authorities or legally effective rulings.
Phan Dinh Tung affirmed that he respects the review process of functional agencies and will continue to coordinate in accordance with legal regulations to resolve the case objectively and transparently. At the same time, the male singer said that he has proactively exchanged and expressed goodwill to dialogue many times to find a suitable solution but has not achieved the final result.
We have kept silent for a long time because we always hope that everything can be resolved in a spirit of goodwill and mutual respect. However, before the prolonged developments of the case, we are forced to publicize this information as an official announcement to protect our legitimate rights and interests," Phan Dinh Tung shared.
The male singer also added that if outstanding issues continue not to achieve appropriate solutions, he will take necessary legal steps to protect his rights according to legal regulations.
