According to Consumer Insight's January 22nd statistics on the number of Korean-origin content viewers on OTT (online), the movie "Honour" (The Last Honor) surprised when it ranked first in terms of interest with a rate of 5%.
This number surpasses "The Art of Sarah" by Netflix and the movie "Bloody flower" by Disney+ - 2 upcoming works.
The Last Honor" is a new TV series of ENA station, directed by Park Gun Ho and scripted by Park Ga Yeon.
Adapted from the Swedish TV series of the same name, "The Last Honor" revolves around the 20-year-old secret that Yoon Ra Young (Lee Na Young), Kang Shin Jae (Jung Eun Chae), Hwang Hyun Jin (Lee Chung Ah) - three lawyer friends who hid it, have now risen up and pushed their lives into chaos.
Instead of arguing who is right and who is wrong, the film builds tension by constantly asking questions about what has been hidden and why.
Wikitree (Korea) commented that the important factor that created the initial attraction of the film was Lee Na Young's return to the small screen after nearly three years. She revealed that she was attracted by the script, read it in one go "like a novel" and could not stop because she wanted to know what would happen next.
For the actress, the appeal of the story lies in the fast pace and journey of Ra Young when facing old wounds while still trying to find the truth. Lee Na Young describes this role as a clear difference from previous characters, both in personality and genre, so she is extremely eager to accept it.
According to the producer's introduction, Ra Young is a famous female lawyer wearing a vest. However, hidden behind that glamorous appearance is a deeper motivation.
Living with the past is a burden for Ra Young, but precisely because of that, she believes that "you need power to speak up for the victims". Therefore, Ra Young puts on "armure" so that her weaknesses are not revealed" - she explained.
In addition to Lee Na Young, the appearance of Jung Eun Chae, Lee Chung Ah, Yeon Woo Jin, Seo Hyun Woo... helps the film increase its recognition. Along with that, the topicality of the work is also a plus point.
Not only is it a mysterious investigative film, "The Last Honor" also addresses the dark reality of criminal gangs, intellectual battles and unremitting pursuits to dismantle hidden criminal networks. The film is scheduled to air on the evening of February 2.
