On January 22, the 14th National Party Congress entered its third official working day.
According to the Party Election Regulations issued together with Decision No. 190-QD/TW, dated October 10, 2024 of the Party Central Committee, elections at the National Congress are decided by the Congress.
Articles 26, 27 of Chapter IV of Decision No. 190-QD/TW stipulate the order and procedures for electing the Central Inspection Committee and the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee as follows:
Article 26. Election of the Central Inspection Committee
1. The Presidium shall report on standards, structure, and number of members of the Central Inspection Committee for the conference to consider and decide.
2. The Conference proceeded to vote on the number of members of the Central Inspection Committee.
3. The Presidium nominates the list introduced by the Politburo of the previous term to elect the Central Inspection Committee and the opinions of the Politburo of the new term.
4. Conducting candidacy and nomination.
5. The Presidium summarizes the list of self-nominated and nominated people; proposes cases that are withdrawn and not withdrawn from the election list, and reports to the conference for consideration and decision.
Vote to ask for opinions from the conference for candidates, nominated at the conference (if necessary).
6. Make a list of voters; hold a meeting to vote on the number and list of voters.

Article 27. Election of Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee
1. The Presidium shall report on the requirements and standards for the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee; personnel expected to be introduced by the Party Central Committee of the previous term (if any) and the introduction opinions of the Politburo of the new term.
2. Conducting candidacy and nomination.
3. The Presidium summarizes the list of self-nominated and nominated people; proposes cases that are withdrawn and not withdrawn from the election list, and reports to the conference for consideration and decision.
Take votes to ask for opinions from the conference for cases of self-nomination, being nominated at the conference (if necessary).

Decision No. 190-QD/TW in Article 28 also stipulates the election of additional members of the standing committee; secretary, deputy secretary, member of the inspection committee, chairman of the inspection committee.
Meanwhile, Article 29 stipulates the election of General Secretary (on request); additional election of members of the Party Central Committee, members of the Politburo, members of the Secretariat, members of the Central Inspection Committee, and Chairmen of the Central Inspection Committee.
