Lao Dong reporter wins Foto Slovo honorary degree (Romania)

The work "The Cost of Grace" by Viet Van, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper who photographed a female ballet student during a stressful practice session, won the Honorary Certificate in the Black and White category of the Foto Slovo Award international photo contest.

According to the Organizing Committee of the Art Photo Contest just announced the results on June 2, 2026, this work is highly appreciated for its artistic vision, creativity and excellent photography quality. Previously, this photo entered the final of the leading photo contest of Head On Photo Awards (Australia) and was exhibited in many major cities of Australia.

This year, the contest attracted thousands of entries from different countries, the Grand Prize was awarded to photographer Natalya Saprunova (Canada) with the work "The Evenk people in Eastern Siberia: The mysterious culture of the reindeer herding people".

Foto Slovo Awards is based in Europe, an international photography award honoring projects with artistic value, creativity and storytelling ability in images and exhibiting award-winning photos in many different countries such as: Cyprus, Romania and France...as well as printing books and magazines.
The 2026 jury includes people working in contemporary photography, photo editing, photo book publishing and international exhibition organization.
