Lao Dong Reporter wins 1839 Awards (USA)

Viet Van's work "What's Left Behind" (Remains), a reporter for Lao Dong Newspaper, has just received a Honorable Mention from the 1839 Awards color photo contest - in the "People" category for professional photographers.

This work, previously titled "My Mother After the Storm", won the Second Prize at the leading international photo contest Head On Photo Awards of Australia, exhibited in many major cities of Australia, and entered the final of the prestigious Art Photo Awards of Lens Culture (USA)...

According to the Organizing Committee announcing the results on the night of June 10, 2026, the grand prize belongs to female author Anne Neiwand (Australia) with the work "Engineed Horizons" (tentatively translated: Designed Horizons). The competition has many categories such as Architecture, Animals, Concepts, Landscapes, Events, Minimalism... The judges are famous experts and curators in the photography industry such as New York Times (USA), Getty Images (Germany), Whitney Museum of American Art, Phaidon Press, Christie's (USA), Central Pompidou (France)... The 1839 Awards (1839 Awards) brings a series of competitions to honor the most outstanding photographers who use photography as a form of art with strong influence.
