Accordingly, within the framework of activities serving people and tourists during the April 30th and May 1st holidays, the Flyboard sports performance program organized by Hoa Lu Tourism Joint Stock Company in coordination with Professional Kiteboarding Training Brand Co., Ltd. from April 30th to the end of May 2nd, in the Ky Lan Lake area - Hoa Lu Old Quarter, ensured the correct plan and compliance with current legal regulations. The program has attracted a large number of tourists, contributing to diversifying local tourism products, without incidents, ensuring order and safety.
However, by the morning of May 3, during the unit's survey and technical testing to assess the possibility of expanding the operating space in the Nui Lo Lake - Vang Pagoda area (location not yet the official performance area), an incident occurred during the operation of equipment serving the experience.
During the guidance process, the Flyboard device encountered technical problems, leading to instability, causing the instructor and participants to fall into the water.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the organizing unit promptly deployed a rescue plan, quickly brought the victims to a safe area, organized initial first aid and transferred them to medical facilities for health checks. As a result, there were no casualties.
Initial information shows that the incident may be due to waste and obstacles in the water environment being swept into the water suction - drainage system of the water motorcycle (Jetski), disrupting the water pressure supplying the Flyboard device, leading to instability during operation.
Immediately after the incident, the organizing units proactively suspended all performance and Flyboard testing activities in the Nui Lo Lake area to conduct comprehensive inspection and review.
At the same time, coordinate with functional agencies to inspect equipment systems, re-evaluate operating area conditions, strengthen water environmental sanitation, collect waste and control obstacles, and supplement safety assurance plans.
Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism has requested event organizers to seriously review and clearly identify the causes and responsibilities of each organization and individual; fully implement legal regulations on organizing sports and tourism activities with risky elements. Only consider continuing to organize activities when ensuring sufficient safety conditions according to regulations.
