In the context of a media crisis due to advertisements for Kera vegetable candy, Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was "questioned" by many viewers, raising a series of questions about her master's degree that she posted on her personal page in June 2024.
Accordingly, Miss Thuy Tien was thought that she may have confused between her certificate and her master's degree. Not to mention, in her sharing, Thuy Tien also misnamed both the school name and the course name.
Responding to Lao Dong reporter, Miss Thuy Tien's management only generalally said, "Thuy Tien's master's degree is reasonable". Instead of specifically explaining why Thuy Tien's school name and course name in the status section are different from those on her degree, whether Thuy Tien studies online or directly..., the management only said "everyone who studies carefully will see that Thuy Tien's degree is a master's degree".
When the reporter asked, "So will Thuy Tien take a graduation exam?", Thuy Tien's manager said, "not knowing", then hung up.
When the controversy had not yet ended, the story of Runner-up Le Phuong Thao also caused a stir.
Le Phuong Thao was born in 1994, participated in Miss Universe Vietnam, then won the 1st runner-up position at the Miss Sports Vietnam contest in 2022.

Yesterday (March 19), Runner-up Le Phuong Thao had to speak up about the information that she had "occurrently" announced about being admitted to Harvard University.
The information caused controversy when many viewers thought that Phuong Thao was actually studying at Harvard Extension School (HES). This is a course for part-time, online and off-season learners.
To register for a course at HES, there is no requirement for a rigorous admission process. Many opinions reacted to Runner-up Phuong Thao and said that this course only requires a visa and "financial capacity" to be able to register to study, without having to go through exam courses or requiring a degree like Harvard University.
Runner-up Le Phuong Thao later had to speak up but only shared in general that, "she is studying for a master's program at Harvard with an admission process different from university".
Currently, the audience continues to react, leaving many comments on the runner-up's personal page about her unclear and transparent studies, intentionally saying " commune" to spread the fog, causing misunderstanding.
It is the lack of information about degrees and courses that is causing beauty queens and runners-up to face the reaction and questioning from the public.
