Not verifying carefully before advertising?
On the evening of March 6, Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien spoke out about the noise of advertising vegetable candy products with Quang Linh Vlog and Hang Du Muc.
Thuy Tien said that she decided to accompany this product because it was suitable for her, had used it continuously for several months and had been provided with full product certificates before deciding to cooperate.
Thuy Tien apologized and affirmed that the information she shared was based on the information provided by the factory.
However, the audience still believes that the 9X beauty queen did not verify carefully before advertising to the public. Some people even pointed out that Thuy Tien once called the product "a spiritual child", perhaps because she also invested in production.
Previously, Quang Linh and Hang Du Cac had to post an apology for advertising information that was too advertised, such as "a candy for a plate of vegetables", or "a 70ml mass of bird's nest contains 30g of fresh bird's nest"... and were strongly criticized by the audience.
Thuy Tien, Hang Du Cac, Quang Linh are all famous people with influence on social networks. Each livestream session, they attract hundreds of thousands of views, boosting sales.
Recently, many "livestream warlords" such as Ha Linh, Linh Bi... have also been involved in product advertising scandals, when they did not clearly understand the uses, giving false information just to invite the audience to "close the deal".
Can lead to serious consequences
Talking to Lao Dong reporter, MSc. Le Dinh Quyet - lecturer at Hanoi Law University, senior consultant at LVI Law Firm - commented that many celebrities "inflating" the use of products for sales can lead to serious consequences.
"Fake advertising behavior not only violates advertising laws but also directly affects consumers' health, especially when the product does not meet the commitment quality. That not only reduces consumer confidence in products and services but can also cause serious legal consequences, with administrative and criminal penalties for individuals and organizations that violate the law," the expert shared.

According to MSc. Le Dinh Quyet, viewing the above incident from a legal perspective, incorrect advertising behavior or confusing behavior about quantity, quality, uses... of products, goods, services is a prohibited behavior under the Advertising Law.
Those who carry out false advertising can be fined from 60 - 80 million VND (according to Decree No. 38/2021, amended and supplemented by Decree No. 129/2021 and Decree No. 128/2022 of the Government). In case there are sufficient factors to constitute a crime, criminal liability may be prosecuted.
Celebrities who advertise or promote too much, "inflate" their publications will also be held responsible before the law if there are consumers whose health is affected by trusting and using that product.
According to Article 11 of the Advertising Law, depending on the nature and severity of the violation, those who advertise false information may be subject to disciplinary action, administrative sanctions or criminal prosecution; if they cause damage, compensation must be paid according to the provisions of law.
In January 2025, responding to the petition of voters in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province sent before the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly on artists advertising untruthfully, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Advertising Law has proposed to add specific regulations on the responsibilities of advertisers and advertising product transmission activities of people with social influence.
The draft revised law is expected to be passed at the meeting in May, setting specific requirements for compliance with legal regulations on the features and quality of goods and services when advertising; in case of posting opinions and feelings about the use of goods and services on social networks, "must be a person who has directly used the product". influential people must be responsible for informing the public about products, goods, and services responsibly and honestly.
Previously, in 2023, the Government Office issued Notice No. 382/TB-VPCP requesting the Ministry of Health and related units to review and complete regulations on the responsibilities of advertisers, advertisers, and food advertising products (including the responsibilities of artists and celebrities participating in advertising).
At the same time, strictly control and strictly handle violations in food advertising and functional foods.
However, reality shows that the situation of artists and celebrities advertising products is still rampant across social networking platforms, in which many people follow contracts up to tens or hundreds of millions of VND without verification, regardless of the consequences.
