Lao Dong reporter had a conversation with actress Luong Thu Trang to share about the pressures and achievements in the actress's career.
In the upcoming film "Duu sang nang" (Duu sang nang), actress Luong Thu Trang will play the role of a wife who made mistakes and had conflicts with her husband (played by actress Duy Hung). Does this character remind you of An Nhien of Heart Rescue Station?
- The character Lan Anh in Duu sang nang will be a different color from An Nhien. Lan Anh is not a villain, she is a woman with many family responsibilities. She is a resistant person, even though she has "drama", but it is not a counter-production line. If when playing An Nhien, I felt pressured and had to keep my emotions for the character so much that I didn't dare to be close to my child, then for Lan Anh, I felt more comfortable. I think Lan Anh will still receive mixed opinions because she has an affair.
In fact, when playing such a villain, I not only get attacked by the audience but also have to face the struggle within me. I tried to balance and overcome those emotions. I don't want to be criticized for only playing a villain role.
In the upcoming scenes, Luong Thu Trang has many difficult scenes, such as screaming, being slapped, arguing with her husband... Will the challenging scenes make it difficult for you?
- This is the first time I have acted in a film with Duy Hung. In the physical impact scenes, Mr. Hung also did his best. After 5 shots, each shots had 3 corners, multiplied by many times, I also grumbled because of the pain. I want Mr. Hung to slapped me seriously so that the scene is realistic, the cheeks are swollen, and the emotions are vivid. As for Mr. Hung, I think the role of Bac is "sneaked" for him.
Did public pressure and psychological struggle when playing a villain make you hesitate to portray villainous characters?
- I considered playing the role of Lan Anh because this character had an affair. However, I was lucky to have the role of Tue Minh in My Father, the one who stayed to help me balance the audiences emotions with my roles. I could not have imagined that the audience would support Tue Minh and Mr. Chinh like that, even though I only played a guest role. Thanks to that, people also have a lighter look at me, no longer being "banned" by An Nhien.
While working at the Youth Theater and participating in many TV series, how do you arrange your time to take care of your family and balance your life?
- Luckily, I was given the opportunity by both the leaders of the Youth Theater and the film crew. Due to my busy work schedule, I sometimes blame myself for not being able to spend much time with my family. There are days when I go to work before my child wakes up, and come home when my child is asleep. However, that is the nature of my job. The child is grown up, and she no longer needs her mother to worry about eating and sleeping. In the near future, I plan to stop acting for about 2 years to accompany my child to secondary school and complete her master's degree.
In her career, actress Luong Thu Trang always seems to be busy with filming work and films that follow the airwaves. What role do family and son play for you?
- When I was young, my child only knew that my mother was an actress and appeared on TV. Now I understand the content of the film and have a perspective on the problem being reflected. I don't sit and watch with you but follow short excerpts online and read the audience's comments.
Before, my child was young so I didn't complain about his mother coming home late. Now he said: "Mom, I want you to stay at home, I don't want you to be an actress anymore". One day, seeing my mother tired and lying in the room, my child brought rice soup to bed, which made me very emotional. I am an introvert, with few friends, so I hope you are someone I can rely on mentally.
Thank you!
