Bright Star House is the group with the fewest members, with only 3 people: Tự Long, Soobin Hoàng Sơn, and Cường Seven. The group performed the folk song "Trống cơm".
According to Tự Long, "Trống cơm" is not a complete song, it is a melody. According to the rules of the program, the group can create new melodies for the song.
As Tự Long said, the performance created a moment of ecstasy for the audience. All three "talents" shone in their own right.
Tự Long brought a heroic echo with his powerful drum performance. Cường Seven had a rap and dance performance that smoothly integrated modern elements into the folk melody. Soobin Hoàng Sơn created a more reflective moment by playing the đàn bầu.
"Perhaps in my career, it will be difficult to find a stage where I can play the đàn bầu with as much emotion as the stage of "Trống cơm". With this second stage, I want to pay tribute to the first teacher in my life, the person who introduced me to music, who introduced me to the đàn bầu, who introduced me to the echoes of folk and ethnic music, the person who connected my soul with art. That is my father - Meritorious Artist Nguyễn Huỳnh Tú," Soobin Hoàng Sơn shared on his personal page after an emotional performance in episode 4 of "Brother Overcoming Thousands of Obstacles".
Besides the musical difference with folk materials, Bright Star House also scored points with impressive performance costumes.
Sharing with Lao Động reporters, the costume designer for the 3 "talents" of Bright Star House, Minh Khôi, said: "The costumes the 3 talents wore are five-body short-sleeved shirts, common attire during the Nguyễn dynasty. With the plum blossom pattern paired with the double longevity and double happiness symbols, it is a way of weaving plum blossoms with the characters for Happiness and Longevity, implying good fortune.
The costume material is gauze fabric. The team mainly focused on the form and color to suit the personality of each artist."
According to Minh Khôi, historical documents record that male warriors and elite guards in the Imperial Palace wore short-sleeved shirts and wrapped fabric around their waists for neatness. Therefore, the choice of wrapping fabric around the waist is suitable for stage application for Tự Long, Soobin Hoàng Sơn, and Cường Seven.
Currently, the "Trống cơm" performance by Bright Star House featuring NSND Tự Long, Soobin Hoàng Sơn, and Cường Seven is being widely shared.
