When asked if the idea for "The Bride of a Rich Family" came from a foreign film with the same theme, producer Will Vu said: "Art in general, or cinema in particular, often has similarities. But the background story of this project is inspired by social issues that are currently of great concern, a controversial topic that has not been fully exploited by filmmakers in Vietnam."
In addition, director Vu Ngoc Dang and lead actress Uyen An also explained that Tu Lac's family's plan to escape poverty came from their desire to escape poverty, so they had no malicious intent to harm anyone. Combined with the storyline of Mrs. Ky's family, the film promises to bring many humorous scenes.
With the cast of stars Kieu Minh Tuan, Le Giang, Hong Van, Thu Trang..., director Vu Ngoc Dang expects: "Individually, the actors all have changes that are opposite to their usual images. Typically, for the first time, Kieu Minh Tuan has a grown daughter, playing the role of an old man with a white beard and beer belly, while Thu Trang becomes a noble lady.
I think Thu Trang still has a lot of inner strength to explore new images, and the character of Mrs. Phuong has brought out the "beast" in Thu Trang. So I believe that the audience will welcome and see this breakthrough from the actors and the content of the film."
Playing the role of Tu Lac in the movie "The Bride of a Rich Family", Uyen An also shared her first thoughts about this role.
The actress said that Tu Lac was a difficult role, and she tried her best to portray this character. Uyen An felt sympathy for Tu Lac. She said that although the character's actions were wrong, her intentions were good and deep down, this character was inherently kind.
Uyen An also received a question about the pressure of box office revenue for "The Bride of the Rich" when her two previous roles in "The Lady's House" and "Mai" directed by Tran Thanh were both very impressive. The actress said that she only knows how to do a good job in her role, and the revenue story is the producer's calculation. For her, the biggest pressure is whether her role is accepted and loved by the audience or not.
However, Uyen An believes that a movie that makes a profit means it is loved by the audience. She also hopes that the audience will support "The Rich Bride".
When asked if Tran Thanh gave her any advice on the role of Tu Lac, Uyen An said that before accepting any role, she always asked for her brother's opinion and received his advice.
