In the 2026 Lunar New Year movie season, "Thỏ ơi!!" is leading the box office with 152 billion VND as of the afternoon of February 20 (ie, the 4th day of Tet), far exceeding "Nhà ba tôi một phòng" in second place with 49 billion VND, according to data from Box Office Vietnam.
In the movie, Van Mai Huong impressed when playing Hai Lan - a woman with many wounds, immersed in marital conflicts and jealousy, anger. The female singer was praised for her emotional acting, especially through her eyes and expressions in the climax segments.
Previously, when releasing the MV "Went Heart" on July 29, 2025, Van Mai Huong was once "criticized" by Tran Thanh for her acting ability.

Although praising the image, color and cinematic camera angle of the MV, Tran Thanh said that Van Mai Huong's performance in the female lead role was still not really expected.
He once asked the audience how many people felt she had played her role well, and when the number of arms raised was still quite hesitant, the male director frankly commented that performance was "not perfect".
At that time, Tran Thanh also hinted that the audience would see a different Van Mai Huong in his next Tet movie project, even calling it a "new invention" in acting.
In "Thỏ ơi!! ", Van Mai Huong plays Hai Lan - a sharp, jealous and somewhat controlled wife. Initially, the character easily reminds the audience of a familiar sharp-tongued woman, but her acting style has created depth.

In the climax segments, instead of pushing emotions to a theatrical and ostentatious level, Van Mai Huong chose to restrain herself with a stopping gaze, slower dialogue and silences.
Thanks to that, Hai Lan is not only a jealous woman but also appears with anxiety and fear of loss. That sophistication helps the role become convincing and makes Van Mai Huong one of the notable highlights of the film.
Tran Thanh once again showed his directing ability when he gave the role of Hai Lan in "Thỏ ơi!!" to Van Mai Huong. Among a character who easily falls into drama and sourness, she still maintains restraint, naturalness and emotional depth.
This choice once again shows Tran Thanh's discovery in his ability to see people and assign roles.
