According to the announced plan, Hanoi, Hung Yen and Lang Son are 3 provinces and cities for teachers and students to celebrate Tet until the end of the 4th day of the first lunar month, i.e. February 20th of the solar calendar. For primary schools, students will have 2 more weekend days off and return to school on the 7th day of Tet - February 23rd of the solar calendar.
However, secondary and high school students in 7th grade schools, the opening day of spring may be the 5th day of Tet - February 21.
Meanwhile, Quang Ninh, Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh and Vinh Long are provinces and cities that give students long Tet holidays.
Quang Ninh students' Tet holiday schedule from Monday, February 16th to the end of Saturday, February 28th. But because March 1st is Sunday, Quang Ninh students only have to return to school on March 2nd. Plus 2 weekend days before the holiday, students in this province have Tet holidays for up to 16 days, the most in the country.
Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, and Vinh Long are also localities that allow students to return to school late. The school schedule for students in Ha Tinh is 24/2; while in Ninh Binh and Vinh Long it is 25/2.
The three provinces of Cao Bang, Dong Thap and Lai Chau do not set specific days to return to school but assign educational institutions to proactively develop schedules suitable to local conditions, but must not let students take less rest than the common time frame.
