Hue - City under the Central Government
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee Le Truong Luu emphasized that the achievements that Hue City has achieved in recent times are the crystallization of patriotism, solidarity, diligence, creativity in fighting, working, and studying of generations of cadres, party members, and people in the whole city.
After 50 years of liberation and nearly 40 years of renovation, Hue City has achieved many encouraging achievements. By 2024, the economic growth rate will reach 8.15%, total budget revenue will reach nearly 13 trillion VND, approaching the budget balance threshold. Cultural and social fields have changed positively.
Hue City is increasingly affirming its position as a unique cultural and tourism center; specialized healthcare; multi-disciplinary, high-quality education and training of the whole country. National defense and security are maintained, foreign affairs activities are increasingly in-depth. The work of building the Party and the political system has been constantly improved in quality.
Hue is honored to be awarded the First Class Independence Medal by the State twice. From January 1, 2025, Thua Thien Hue province officially became the 6th centrally-governed city according to Resolution 175 of the National Assembly.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Truong Luu affirmed that Hue will continue to promote historical traditions, preserve the identity of a heritage city, and at the same time strive to develop sustainably, safely, friendfully, happily, imbued with Hue culture. He called on the cadres, soldiers and people of Hue City to continue to unite, promote the spirit of autonomy and self-reliance, overcome difficulties, compete to complete the socio-economic targets for 2025 and the 5-year plan for 2020 - 2025.
Developing Hue into a leading cultural center
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu highly appreciated the achievements that Hue City has achieved over the past 50 years. He acknowledged the efforts to overcome difficulties of the Party Committee, government and people of Hue in the context of a weak economy after war, often facing natural disasters and epidemics.
The Standing Secretariat emphasized that the Party and State hope that Hue City will continue to promote historical and cultural traditions, solidarity and aspiration to rise up, promote innovation and creativity, create a strong momentum to build Hue into a sustainable, safe, friendly and happy developing city.
He suggested that Hue City pay attention to effectively implementing Resolution 175 of the National Assembly on the establishment of Hue City under the Central Government, ensuring a streamlined and efficient organization, meeting development requirements in the new situation. At the same time, promote the potential and advantages of the locality, mobilize resources to invest in socio-economic, urban, digital transformation, science and technology and administrative reform to create a favorable environment for development.
