On the morning of August 28, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil, Industrial and Infrastructure of Da Nang in coordination with relevant agencies and units held the Inauguration Ceremony of Uncle Ho's statue in the Da Nang Library grounds, Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang City.
The project was inaugurated on the occasion of the celebration of the 23rd Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030; towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, and at the same time, the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The completion of the Uncle Ho statue in the Da Nang Library grounds is of great significance, in order to honor the life and great revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, meeting the affection of the people of Da Nang city for President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved leader of the nation.
At the same time, this will be a unique cultural location for people and domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Da Nang to admire and remember Uncle Ho, thereby, widely propagating and educating the tradition of studiousness and fostering the spirit of learning and reading for the younger generations of the city, contributing to the development of reading culture.
The Uncle Ho statue project in the Da Nang Library area was approved by the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee in Decision No. 2695/QD-UBND dated December 3, 2024 with a total investment of more than 14 billion VND, a group C project, a civil project in the field of Culture, level II, built on an area of 3,041m2.
The investor and project manager and supervision consultant is the Da Nang Civil, Industrial and Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board. The project was completed on August 20, 2025.
The Uncle Ho statue in the Da Nang Library grounds is designed with a harmonious landscape, with trees, grass, a walking path and a reading platform paved with Granite. The highlight of the project is the Uncle Ho statue in the middle of the campus; The reliefs arranged after the Uncle Ho statue are the simple and elegant image of Khue Van Cac placed right in the middle of the relief depicting the intelligence, self-reliance, self-reliance, and tradition of learning of the Vietnamese people.
On both sides is the majestic and famous landscape of Ngu Hanh Son in Da Nang. The overall relief depicts the inseparable relationship between humans and nature, supporting each other for mutual development.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee said that the image of Uncle Ho sitting and reading a book was chosen as a symbol to inspire him in the spirit of self-study and passion for reading. Uncle Ho is a shining example of self-study, with his constant improvement in knowledge through books and newspapers, regardless of difficult circumstances.
The statue is placed at the General Science Library - a space of knowledge, to encourage the younger generation and people of Da Nang to promote the tradition of studiousness, build the habit of reading and improving knowledge. The project not only has political significance but is also an important cultural address, meeting the aspirations of the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang city.
"Uncle Ho's statue, along with a relief depicting the image of Khue Van Cac and Ngu Hanh Son scenic spot, creates a harmonious space, imbued with the cultural identity of Vietnam and Da Nang. This will be a place for people and tourists at home and abroad to admire and remember Uncle Ho, and at the same time experience the friendly and modern reading culture space, emphasized the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee.
