Gratitude for Birth" is an annual art program held on the occasion of Vu Lan, aiming to spread filial piety, family affection and the nation's tradition of "Remembering the source when drinking water". Through many years of organization, the program has become a cultural rendezvous, a place to connect stories about family affection, sacrifice and gratitude between generations.
This year, the program expands the meaning of the word "Filial Piety", from love and gratitude for parents and grandparents to gratitude to the community, homeland, and country; commemorating heroic martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and generations who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.
In particular, the program takes place in the context that the whole country is actively implementing the "Campaign of 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains", and is also one of the meaningful activities towards the 30th anniversary of the Golden Heart Charity Fund.
With a duration of about 120 minutes, the program is built into 3 chapters: "The Origin of Love", "Pain in Peace" and "Vu Lan Wish".
In which, the first chapter - "The Source of Love" brings the audience back to stories about parents, family affection and silent sacrifice through the works "My Mother", "Dear Mother", "Father's Lies", "Crying for Mother".
Chapter II - "Pain in peace" is dedicated to expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for the Fatherland and families who still carry the pain of war. The report "Those who are waiting" and the works "Red Flower Color", "Where are you", "Pain in peace", "Singing for the living", "Letter to mother", "Returning" recount stories about soldiers, relatives of martyrs and separations.
In particular, the program has the participation of musician Truong Quy Hai - a veteran of Division 356, who fought on the Vi Xuyen front. He will share stories about war memories, comradeship and compositions associated with soldiers and homeland.
Chapter III - "Vu Lan Wishes" closed the program with stories about love and sharing. The play "Grandma's Wishes" by author Tran Hoang, directed by Dao Duy Anh, performed by artists of the Vietnam Youth Theater is a highlight of the program.
