Poland has just announced a self-propelled transport helicopter model named KURIER, marking a new step in the field of unmanned military logistics, especially in complex combat conditions.
KURIER is designed like an automatic cargo helicopter, capable of transporting a maximum of 200kg, with a maximum take-off weight of 600kg. The device can reach speeds of up to 180km/h, fly continuously for 3 to 10 hours and operate at a maximum altitude of 4,000 meters.
The noteworthy point is that KURIER can operate in an environment without GPS signals or electronic interference, which is an increasingly important factor in modern battlefields where positioning systems are easily disabled.
The product is developed by FlyFocus Aviation - Defense Technology Company based in Warsaw (Poland), using components from suppliers linked to NATO to ensure the stability of the supply chain and long-term maintenance capacity.
According to Mr. Igor Skawiński, founder of FlyFocus, KURIER represents an important step forward in battlefield logistics automation. He emphasized that the reliability of military systems largely depends on the supply chain, and the development of technology controlled by Europe is key to ensuring security.
Not only serving ground transportation missions, this platform can also be expanded to naval operations such as supply between ships, maritime surveillance and anti-submarine warfare support.
This helps KURIER become a flexible solution for many different military scenarios.
The project is implemented by a domestic research - industrial consortium, including FlyFocus, FusionCopter and the Institute for Basic Technology Research under the Polish Academy of Sciences, with a total budget of nearly 5 million euros.
Launched in February 2024, KURIER has now completed flight tests in conditions close to reality at military training grounds.
The product was also first launched to the public at the Drone World Expo exhibition held in Warsaw.
Experts believe that the appearance of KURIER reflects the increasing trend of using unmanned vehicles in military logistics operations.
In the context of modern warfare requiring high speed, accuracy and independent operation, platforms like KURIER can play an increasingly important role.
