On the afternoon of May 6, information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security said that on May 5, implementing the order of the Director of the Traffic Police Department, the national traffic police force simultaneously deployed a peak period of inspection and handling of two key topics including handling passenger and cargo business vehicles violating traffic safety order and handling alcohol concentration violations.
According to statistics, after a short period of deployment, the national traffic police force has inspected more than 40,000 vehicles, detected and handled nearly 2,700 violations.
Notably, alcohol concentration violations continue to account for a high proportion. Through inspection of more than 30,000 vehicles, functional forces have detected and handled 1,717 cases of alcohol concentration violations, accounting for about 5.7% of the vehicles inspected. All 1,717 violating vehicles were temporarily seized according to regulations.
Among the cases of alcohol concentration violations, motorbikes accounted for the majority with 1,609 cases, equivalent to 93.7%. For cars, functional forces discovered 16 violations, accounting for nearly 1%.
The Traffic Police Department assesses that this is still an act that poses a high risk of serious traffic accidents, especially in the context that many localities have just ended their long holidays.

Regarding the topic of controlling transport business vehicles, functional forces inspected more than 4,500 passenger transport vehicles, detecting 347 violations, accounting for about 7.7%.
The main violations include speeding, improper parking, carrying goods in the passenger compartment, violating lanes, lanes, changing direction or overtaking vehicles improperly.
In addition, more than 6,700 cargo vehicles were also inspected, thereby detecting 913 violations, accounting for about 13.6%.
The acts that are handled are concentrated, including carrying overloaded and oversized goods, extending the truck bed, speeding, entering prohibited roads, violating badges, not complying with traffic lights, turning without signals and using phones when driving vehicles.
The Traffic Police Department requests local traffic police forces to continue to maintain inspection and strictly handle violations to ensure traffic order and safety, curb traffic accidents and raise the awareness of law compliance of traffic participants.
