On the afternoon of December 30, speaking with Lao Dong, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Huong - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Border Guard of Phu Yen province said that the unit had received information about the death of 2 fishermen on 2 fishing boats in Phu Yen.
"The cause of death of the two fishermen is suspected to be a stroke, there are no signs of crime. The two fishermen are currently being brought back to shore by vehicles," said Colonel Huong.
According to initial information, on December 29, Tuy Hoa Border Guard Station (Phu Yen Provincial Border Guard) received a report that fishing boat PY 09505 TS (15.9m long, 400CV capacity) had a crew member die on board.
At around 5:30 a.m. the same day, captain Nguyen Huynh Hien Than (born in 1955, residing in Phu Dong ward, Tuy Hoa city) discovered crew member Le Anh Sy (born in 1989, residing in Phu Dong ward) dead while sleeping.
It is known that fishing boat PY 09505 TS departed on December 24 from Dong Tac fishing port (Tuy Hoa city), with 5 workers on board. The fishing boat is currently on its way back to shore, expected to arrive at Vung Ro village (Dong Hoa town) on December 31.
Similarly, on December 30, Tuy Hoa Police Station received a report about fishing boat PY 96194 TS (15.2m long, 400CV capacity) with a crew member dead on board.
The victim was identified as Mr. Le Ron (born in 1966, residing in Phu Dong ward). Mr. Ron showed signs of fatigue and difficulty breathing after fishing for squid at sea. Immediately after that, the fishermen on the boat performed first aid, however, Mr. Ron died.
It is known that the ship PY 96194 TS, captained by Mr. Nguyen Khac Quy (41 years old), departed on December 24 from Dong Tac fishing port, with 6 workers on board. The fishing boat is currently on its way to shore, expected to arrive at Dong Tac port (Tuy Hoa city) on January 2, 2025.
