The draft Decree replacing Decree No. 35/2025 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is being appraised by the Ministry of Justice.
According to the Draft Regulations, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is the Government agency performing state management functions in the fields of: agriculture; forestry; salt industry; aquaculture; irrigation; dykes and disaster prevention; rural development; land; water resources; mineral resources, geology; environment; meteorology and hydrology; climate change; surveying and mapping; integrated resource management and marine and island environmental protection; remote sensing; state management of public services in the fields under the ministry's management.
Article 2 of the Draft Decree has proposed 46 powers and tasks of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. The draft proposes the organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to include 29 units. Among them, there are 25 administrative units assisting the Minister in performing state management functions and 4 public non-business units serving the state management functions of the ministry.

The Minister of Agriculture and Environment stipulates the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of units directly under the ministry; submits to the Prime Minister for promulgation a decision on the list of other public non-business units directly under the ministry according to regulations.
