At more than 6 am on May 4, while traveling on the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway section passing through Con Tien commune (Quang Tri province), vehicles participating in traffic had to slow down and stop to avoid colliding with a herd of cows moving on the entire lane.
The incident was recorded by a driver, then posted on social networks, causing public outrage.
Leaders of Road Management Office II. 4 (Road Management Zone II, Vietnam Road Administration) said that they have grasped the information and are coordinating with local authorities to inspect and verify the owner of the herd of cows for handling.
Initial verification shows that the incident occurred at about 6:15 am on May 4. At this location, construction was underway, so there were two locations where the fence was removed, so the herd of cows entered.
Road Management Office II. 4 will work with local authorities to strengthen propaganda and remind people not to let livestock roam near the expressway. Violations will be handled according to regulations. At the same time, the construction unit is also required to barricade the locations after construction to ensure safety.
