On June 26, the Military Party Committee of An Giang province organized a Conference to evaluate the results of leadership in performing military and local defense tasks in the first 6 months of the year and issued a resolution to lead the implementation of tasks in the last 6 months of 2026.
In the first 6 months of 2026, the Provincial Military Party Committee has led and directed the provincial armed forces to comprehensively complete local military and national defense tasks. Notably, it has advised the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct the effective implementation of military and national defense tasks; completed 100% of the targets for selecting and calling citizens to enlist in 2026; strictly maintained combat readiness, closely coordinated with forces to maintain political security and social order and safety in the area. Accelerate the construction of combat works in the defense area, strictly manage national defense land and well perform the task of managing and protecting border, sea and island sovereignty.
The "Military-Civilian Tet" activity, mass mobilization work, and military rear policies are effectively implemented, contributing to consolidating the military-civilian solidarity relationship. In particular, the Provincial Military Party Committee has advised the Provincial Steering Committee 515 to effectively implement the Campaign "500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains". Teams K92 and K93 have actively searched and repatriated 157 martyrs' remains, including 42 remains in the country and 115 remains in Cambodia, and at the same time coordinated to deploy sampling to serve DNA testing of unidentified martyrs' remains.
Speaking to direct at the conference, Major General Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Commander of Military Region 9, acknowledged and praised the outstanding results achieved by the An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee in the first 6 months of the year. The comrade requested the Provincial Military Party Committee to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement resolutions and directives of superiors; proactively advise Party committees and local authorities to lead the good implementation of military and national defense tasks; improve the quality of training, combat readiness; build an increasingly solid defense area; maintain political security, social order and safety in the area, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee acknowledged and praised the spirit of responsibility and the results achieved by the Provincial Military Party Committee in the first 6 months of 2026. The comrade requested each Party committee, commander, agency, and unit to seriously overcome the limitations that have been pointed out; continue to advise on the effective implementation of projects on strengthening national defense, security, and building defense zones.
The Provincial Party Secretary also requested the provincial armed forces to promote political and ideological education, strengthen the struggle to protect the ideological foundation of the Party, and widely propagate the Campaign "500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains" towards the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day. Organize thoughtfully the Welcoming Ceremony for Teams K92, K93 returning home, memorial service and burial of martyrs' remains; continue to well implement the policy of the Army's rear, accelerate the progress of national defense projects, and ensure good logistics, technical, and financial work. Build a clean and strong Provincial Military Party Committee, a comprehensively strong "model and typical" provincial armed forces, and successfully complete the military and national defense tasks in 2026.
