Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense - attended the troop handover and reception point No. 1 - Long Xuyen Area 2 Defense Command, An Giang province.
Also attending were Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Dat - Commander of Military Region 9, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung.
2026 is the first year to implement military recruitment associated with the 2-level local government model. The Provincial Military Service Council directly directs the Military Service Councils of communes, wards, and special zones to implement the process of selecting and calling citizens to enlist, as well as the obligation to participate in the People's Police. Health check-ups are organized according to 26 regional health check-up councils established by the Provincial People's Committee, ensuring strictness and objectivity.
The Provincial Military Command has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a plan, fully guiding the implementation steps with the consistent spirit of "Recruiting enough targets - ensuring quality".
As a result, the whole province completed 100% of the military assignment targets, in accordance with the law, publicly, and democratically.
