On March 2nd, the Military Command (CHQS) of An Giang province solemnly organized the 2026 training launching ceremony. Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Military Party Committee of An Giang province - Nguyen Tien Hai attended the ceremony; also attending were Major General Nguyen Van Nganh, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, heads of military region agencies.
The launching ceremony aims to create a vibrant emulation atmosphere, encourage and motivate officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces to uphold the spirit of self-reliance and self-strengthening, overcome difficulties, and strive to successfully, comprehensively, and firmly implement the military, national defense, and border guard tasks in 2026.
Accordingly, the provincial armed forces focus on thoroughly grasping and comprehensively deploying the military, national defense, and border defense plans and tasks for 2026; building and consolidating documents and plans for combat readiness to protect the election; strictly maintaining the combat readiness regime; strengthening inspection and strict control of borders, border gates, seaports, promptly detecting and effectively handling situations, not being passive or surprised, firmly protecting the land, airspace, sea, islands, and southwestern border of the Fatherland.
The provincial armed forces closely coordinate with the Police and forces to ensure political security, order, and social safety in the area; proactively participate in preventing and combating, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, rescue and relief; fighting against crime.
Training work is organized in accordance with the motto, viewpoints, principles and combinations; ensuring quality right from the first week, first month; checking 3 contents of shooting, throwing grenades, detonating explosives for new recruits strictly and absolutely safely. Training for subjects to ensure sufficient troop strength; 100% inspection results meet requirements, including 75% or more good and excellent; training new recruits to achieve excellent results. Organizing training in national defense and security knowledge for subjects to meet 100% of targets.
In 2026, the provincial armed forces will organize provincial-level defense area exercises; regional defense exercises for the 4th Regional Defense Command - Phu Quoc Special Zone; exercises in 25 communes, wards, and special zones; border guard station-level tactical exercises and comprehensive exercises, ensuring strictness and absolute safety.
At the ceremony, the Party Committee, Provincial Military Command, and the Provincial Armed Forces Emulation and Commendation Council launched the 2026 training emulation campaign with the theme: "Solidarity, discipline, breakthrough, creativity, determination to win" and the peak emulation campaign to celebrate the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term, election of People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term; commemorating the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026) with the theme: "Solidarity, democracy, responsibility, excellently completing the task of participating in the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term".
