Prolonged heavy rain in recent days, especially the rain recorded on September 23, has caused flooding in some areas in Binh Chanh commune.
Faced with complicated weather diễn biến, the Military Command of Binh Chanh commune quickly deployed forces directly to the affected points to support the locality and people in responding.
In flooded areas, commune militia forces coordinated to clear the flow, operate drainage pumps, collect mud and support relocation and cleaning for affected households. Activities were deployed promptly, contributing to minimizing the impact on daily life as well as ensuring safety for people in the area.
Proactively sticking to the area and timely supporting the people continues to affirm the core role of the local armed forces in disaster prevention and control, rescue and relief, and being ready to respond when situations arise.
Forecasting that heavy rain and the risk of flooding may continue to develop complicatedly, the Military Command of Binh Chanh commune requested people to limit moving through deeply flooded areas; and at the same time proactively inspect and reinforce houses and roofs to protect property and essential items. When unsafe situations are detected, people need to immediately inform local functional forces for timely support and handling.
