On the afternoon of October 9, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province held a regular press conference for the third quarter of 2024 and responded to some press concerns. At the press conference, press agencies were interested in the construction progress of a series of key local museum projects such as: Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum, Truong Sa Museum, Alexandre Yersin Museum.
Regarding the progress of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum project, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Chief of Office and Spokesperson of Khanh Hoa Province informed that the locality has not yet finalized the land location to build this museum.
Previously, the province also assigned the Department of Construction, Culture and Sports... to propose a number of land fund locations to build the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum. However, the proposed construction locations were not suitable.
In addition, the Party Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has a document reporting to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to allow adjusting the implementation time of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum Construction Project to the 2026-2030 period because the Provincial People's Committee is reviewing and determining a suitable construction location.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, in the immediate future, the locality will focus on building the Truong Sa Museum and the Alexandre Yersin Museum.
“For Truong Sa Museum, the architectural competition has been completed. The sponsoring unit is currently organizing and implementing the appraisal reports and related designs to implement the construction investment steps. It is expected to start construction at the end of this year,” informed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha.
Regarding the Alexandre Yersin Museum, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha said that the locality has identified the location of the T378 Guest House of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police.
“Currently, the Provincial Police are building a guesthouse in the area behind the headquarters. When the guesthouse is completed, they will hand over Guest House T378 to build the Alexandre Yersin Museum,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha shared.
Truong Sa Museum will be built on a 20,700m2 land plot in Cam Hai Dong commune, Cam Lam district.
Truong Sa Museum will be a modern, unique project, meeting the needs of scientific research, study, sightseeing and cultural enjoyment of the public, worthy of the name and goals of Truong Sa Museum, the first museum about islands and sovereignty of islands in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, the Alexandre Yersin Museum is a unique architectural work, a center for storage, conservation, scientific research and collection.
According to the outline established by Khanh Hoa province, the proposed location for the construction of the Alexandre Yersin Museum is located in the area adjacent to Yersin Park on Tran Phu Street - currently the area of Guest House 378 with a total area of over 5,700m2; the maximum construction density is not more than 40%. The implementation period is from 2024 to 2030.
