On July 4, in Hanoi, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Minister of National Defense chaired a conference to hand over the duties and responsibilities of the Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force (PK-KQ).

According to Decision No. 1398/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien - Commander of the PK-KQ Army to hold the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense.

In Decision No. 1409/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed Major General Vu Hong Son - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the PK-KQ Army to hold the position of Commander of the PK-KQ Army.

At the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien handed over the duties and responsibilities of Commander of the PK-KQ Army to Major General Vu Hong Son.
