On the morning of January 25, Tra Co Border Guard Station (Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard) said that the unit had completed the dossier and reported to functional agencies to handle the case of transporting frozen pig udders of unknown origin according to the provisions of law.
Previously, at about 11:30 am on January 22, 2026, the Patrol and Control Team (TTKS) of Tra Co Border Guard Station chaired, in coordination with the Economic Security Department (Quang Ninh Provincial Police) and Van Gia Port Border Gate Customs, performing duties in the sea area of Mong Cai 1 ward (Quang Ninh province), discovered a bamboo raft without license plates, moving with suspicious signs. The task force signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection.
Through inspection, the driver of the vehicle was Hoang Van Chung (born in 1983, residing in Trang Lo neighborhood, Mong Cai 1 ward, Quang Ninh province), who is also the vehicle owner. The vehicle is about 6m long, 1.8m wide, with a capacity of 12CV. The vehicle was carrying 16 sacks of green pineapple; inside each sack contained a styrofoam box measuring about 58x34x32cm. Checking the styrofoam boxes, it was discovered that it contained frozen pig udders, each box weighing about 50kg, with a total weight estimated at about 800kg.
Hoang Van Chung confessed that he had controlled his raft to the oyster farming rig area in the Bac Luan river mouth area in the Chinese sea area to transport the above goods to Trang Lo area, Mong Cai 1 ward, for a man named Hai to get wages.
At the time of inspection, Hoang Van Chung could not present any documents related to the vehicle and invoices, documents proving the legality of the above goods. The patrol and control team requested Hoang Van Chung to bring the vehicle and all goods to Tra Co Border Guard Station for handling according to the provisions of law.
Recently, functional forces have continuously detected and arrested cases of transporting goods, including food of unknown origin, at the border line in Quang Ninh.
