Thai Nguyen - Pho Yen City Bus Station, although completed, has been abandoned for more than 3 years, while many items have begun to deteriorate.

Pho Yen bus station project has an investment capital of nearly 20 billion VND, invested by Thai Nguyen Transport Joint Stock Company. The project is expected to be completed in 2021.

The project is deployed on an area of 10,000 m2, adjacent to the old National Highway 3 in Nam Tien ward, the center of Pho Yen city with a beautiful location and convenient traffic connection.

According to the reporter's records at the end of December 2024, after 3 years since its completion, Pho Yen bus station is still deserted with people and vehicles.

Inside the bus station, weeds grow wildly, garbage is scattered everywhere, some locations have become places to grow vegetables, crops... Many items in the operator area, entrance gate, lighting system... are rusted, cracked, showing signs of deterioration.

Ms. Luong Thu Thao, who has a house near Pho Yen bus station, said that the construction has been lying idle for many years.

"For years, it has been deserted, with no activity. The whole bus station, which is so big, beautiful and spacious, is now just left empty, exposed to the sun and rain, and it's so sad to see. Now the bus station is mainly used to grow plants and become a drying area for people around," Ms. Thao added.

According to research, the main reason why Pho Yen bus station has been completed but not yet put into operation is because the investor was slow to receive land, the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted progress, and problems in announcing the operation.

Speaking with reporters, a leader of Nam Tien Ward People's Committee confirmed that it has been 3 years since its completion but Pho Yen bus station still cannot be put into operation.

"The local authorities hope that in the near future there will be a plan to put this bus station into operation to meet travel needs and promote trade in the area," informed the leader of Nam Tien Ward People's Committee.

On the other hand, according to information from the Thai Nguyen Department of Transport, this unit said that the project does not meet the standards of a type 4 bus station according to the registered project schedule, and the adjustment is under the authority of the Provincial People's Committee.
