At around 2:00 p.m., many drivers traveling from the old Thu Duc City to the center of Ho Chi Minh City through the Saigon River tunnel suddenly saw a cow running inside. Vehicles were forced to slow down to avoid the collision. When running to the middle of the tunnel, the cow was stopped and caught by the manager.
A representative of the Saigon River Tunnel Management Center said that before that, the unit discovered a herd of about a dozen cows standing near the tunnel entrance but there was no one watching. The staff tried to move the herd to another place, but one ran straight into the tunnel. Immediately afterwards, the management force quickly chased, controlled, and handed it over to the owner.
According to the center representative, the area near the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel in the old Thu Duc City has many vacant lots, people often take cows to graze but do not closely monitor, which poses a risk of causing accidents. The unit has made a record and transferred it to the local authorities for handling to avoid a recurrence.
