According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, the total state budget revenue in the province in 2024 is estimated at 29,503 million VND, exceeding 15.5% compared to the estimate assigned by the Central Government and the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council. Quang Ngai ranks 2nd out of 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions, only after Thanh Hoa. This is the 4th consecutive year that the province has exceeded its budget revenue by a very high amount.
In the first months of 2024, Quang Ngai experienced changes in the staff and provincial management leaders, which partly affected the mindset and working spirit of the civil servants and public employees, greatly affecting the direction and administration of the Provincial People's Committee. In the general difficult conditions of the province, with the support of the Central Government, close direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee... the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee focused on directing and resolutely implementing tasks and solutions, promptly handling arising issues.
Thanks to that, the province's socio-economic situation in 2024 achieved positive results in most areas. Of the 25 main socio-economic targets in 2024, all 25/25 targets were achieved; of which, 9 targets exceeded the targets set by the Provincial People's Council Resolution.
In addition to the above achievements, the implementation of the socio-economic development tasks in 2024 still has limitations. Economic growth is quite good but not uniform among regions. The disbursement rate of public investment capital is low, not meeting the set plan. It is expected that by January 31, 2025, the disbursement rate will reach 57%.
Don't be complacent with the results achieved.
According to Mr. Giang, 2025 is a year of acceleration and breakthrough, which is very important and decisive for the implementation of the goals, targets and tasks of the 5-year Plan 2021 - 2025. The implementation of the socio-economic development plan has opportunities and advantages, but also continues to face certain difficulties and challenges. Quang Ngai strives for GRDP to increase by 7.5 - 8.5%. GRDP per capita is about 4,710 USD.
Mr. Giang informed that in 2025, the Central Government assigned the province a revenue estimate of 31,950 billion VND, the highest compared to previous years. This is both a target to strive for and a great pressure to complete the State budget revenue target, while the oil price on the world market is decreasing compared to the oil price estimate assigned by the Central Government (80 USD/barrel).
However, in terms of state budget revenue, the province strives to achieve the estimate assigned by the Central Government and the Provincial People's Council, exceeding the assigned target by 5%; the poverty rate in the whole province decreased by 2.21%, of which the mountainous area decreased by 11.07% and the plain area decreased by 0.35%.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang commented that the tasks set for 2025 are extremely heavy, when having to carry out two tasks at the same time: striving to complete the goals and targets of the 2025 Socio-Economic Development Plan and the 5-year Plan 2021 - 2025. Therefore, the province is not complacent with the results achieved, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to make efforts, put the highest determination, strongly innovate strategic thinking, breakthrough vision on the basis of inheriting the achievements and overcoming difficulties and limitations to complete the set goals and targets.
