On September 4, Mr. Nguyen Quang Chien - Vice Chairman of Vinh Thuy Commune People's Committee, Quang Tri province said that functional forces and local people had found the body of Ms. L.T.T (born in 1992, residing in Thuy Ba Ha village, Vinh Thuy commune) after many hours of searching.
According to initial information, at about 5 pm on September 3, the family discovered Ms. T. missing after herding cows.
Previously, at about 10 am on the same day, Ms. T. left home to herd cows. Until late afternoon, not seeing her return, the family organized a search.
When arriving at Rao Ba Ra area - a branch of the Ben Hai River, belonging to Thuy Ba village, relatives discovered Ms. T.'s motorbike left on the bank and reported it to the local authorities.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Vinh Thuy commune government mobilized functional forces and people to organize a search.
More than 300 people participated, including forces for disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, and commune civil defense, police, military, and a large number of local people. The search was deployed continuously and lasted overnight.
At about 8 am on September 4, the search force discovered the body of Ms. L.T.T in the Rao Ba Ra area, about 200m away from the location identified as suspected of the incident.
According to information from local authorities, the initial cause was determined to be that Ms. T. died from drowning while trying to cross the river.
After completing the necessary procedures, functional forces handed over the victim's body to the family for funeral arrangements according to local customs.
On September 4, representatives of the leadership of Vinh Thuy Commune People's Committee visited, expressed condolences and encouraged the victim's family.
