The project to renovate technical infrastructure, urban beautification, and organize a walking street around Ngoc Khanh Lake is being urgently completed and is expected to be put into use on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
According to Lao Dong's records in early September, the renovation and upgrading process of Ngoc Khanh Lake is in the final stages with many infrastructure items and the surrounding environment gradually improving.
The construction unit is currently actively implementing the final stages, including installing lighting systems along the walking paths around the lake, paving the sidewalks to create a clean and beautiful landscape, and completing important technical infrastructure items.
Regularly exercising in the Ngoc Khanh Lake area, Mr. Nguyen Minh Long (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) shared that people are extremely supportive of the upgrading of Ngoc Khanh Lake and look forward to the day when the lake is completed.
“After many years, the sidewalks in the area have shown signs of deterioration, posing a danger to pedestrians. Completing the infrastructure upgrade soon will give the lake a new look, creating a greener, cleaner, and more airy space,” said Mr. Long.
Ms. Dang Thi Minh (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) said that if the landscape and infrastructure around the lake are quickly improved, it will attract more people to come and have fun and exercise.
“After completing the lake renovation, the local government also needs to take measures to deal with the shops occupying the sidewalks along the lake as parking lots, leaving people with no space to walk and having to walk on the street,” Ms. Minh added.
The project to renovate technical infrastructure, urban beautification, and organize a walking street around Ngoc Khanh Lake has a total investment of nearly 30 billion VND from the Ba Dinh district budget.
To complete the technical renovation, Ba Dinh district will pave natural stone sidewalks and walking paths for Ngoc Khanh lake, creating favorable conditions for business services, walking, and entertainment.
The locality also planted additional trees to ensure a density of 5m/tree, tied tree pots with natural stone, installed trash cans, public toilets, street lights, and pedestrian street gates.
After upgrading, Ngoc Khanh Lake will have its capacity to drain rainwater and improve urban aesthetics. This will create favorable conditions for business services in the area to develop, creating a beautiful, civilized and relaxing landscape for people to enjoy and entertain.
When put into operation, Ngoc Khanh Lake walking street and surrounding areas will be the second walking street organized in Ba Dinh district and the 7th walking street in Hanoi.
