On September 22, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station issued a flood warning bulletin on rivers in the area.
According to monitoring data, in the past 24 hours, the water level on rivers and streams in Khanh Hoa province has changed little to small fluctuations.
Specifically, at 7:00 AM on September 22, the water level on the Dinh Ninh Hoa River (at Ninh Hoa hydrological station) reached 3.23m (0.97m below alarm level 1).
And on the Cai Nha Trang River (at Dong Trang hydrological station), the water level is at 3.19m (below alarm level 1 by 4.81m).
At the Cai Phan Rang River, the water level measured at Tan My hydrological station is 33.62m (below alarm level 1 by 1.88m) and at Phan Rang hydrological station is 0.71m (below alarm level 1 by 1.79m).
Forecast from September 22 to September 25, on rivers in Khanh Hoa province, there is a possibility of a flood with a flood peak approaching alarm level 1. The forecasting agency has issued a warning of disaster risk level due to flood at Level 1.
Due to the impact of the flood, the environment is at risk of being adversely affected, threatening people's lives, and at the same time causing local traffic congestion, hindering the movement of vehicles.
Localities need to proactively prevent the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas; rain and floods causing unsafety of reservoirs, as well as flooding in low-lying areas, riversides and urban areas in the province.
Previously, from the morning of September 22, moderate to heavy rain appeared widely in Khanh Hoa province.
According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, this heavy rain spell lasts from the afternoon of September 21st to September 24th. Common rainfall reaches 120-250mm/period, locally over 300mm/period. In particular, specialized agencies pay attention to the risk of heavy rain with intensity over 100mm in just 3 hours.
Although dangerous extreme weather phenomena have not been recorded, functional agencies of Khanh Hoa province have requested localities and units not to be negligent and proactively deploy timely response measures to heavy rain developments.
