At about 9 am, a fire occurred at a 5-story house on Hang Ma street. According to initial records, the house was used for trading goods and decorations.
Witnesses at the scene said that at the time of the incident, smoke suddenly rose from the 3rd floor area. "Initially, it was thick white smoke with a pungent smell, many people panicked and shouted to each other to run away and find ways to put out the fire," a witness recounted.
Also according to people, at the time of the fire, there were two people inside the house. A man on the 1st floor managed to escape, while a woman on the 3rd floor went outside and climbed down to the roof of the house next door.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department of Hanoi Police dispatched officers, soldiers and 5 vehicles of Fire Prevention and Fighting Teams No. 7, 8 and 14 to the scene to search for trapped people and organize firefighting.
At the scene, functional forces took a person who slipped and fell while escaping the fire and handed them over to the medical force.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, until about 10 am, there was still smoke billowing, with fire on the 3rd floor. Functional forces continued to spray water to cool down and drain smoke.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated and clarified.
