According to the Hanoi City Police Electronic Information Portal, at about 6:04 a.m. on January 19, 2025, Call Center 114 - City Police Command Information Center received a report from residents about a house fire at 79 Bach Dang Street (Chuong Duong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City).
Immediately upon receiving the information, the City Police Command Information Center urgently mobilized 5 fire trucks from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Hoan Kiem District Police, Ba Dinh District Police and the elite Special Police Team of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of Area 2 of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to the scene to coordinate with local authorities and people to organize fire fighting.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the City Police also mobilized 2 command vehicles, 1 truck carrying vehicles and officers and soldiers to the scene to direct fire fighting and rescue work.
At the scene, the forces determined that the fire occurred at a 3-storey house, located about 30m inside Bach Dang street. The fire situation was complicated, with a lot of smoke and toxic gas, and the fire could spread to neighboring houses, making it difficult to fight the fire.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force urgently deployed measures to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading; used a ladder to access the second floor of the burning house, broke the glass door to escape the smoke and search for victims.
During the fire fighting process, an injured person was discovered and brought out on the 2nd floor and handed over to the medical team to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
At about 6:38 a.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished.
Regarding damage, the total area of the fire was about 25 square meters. The victim was taken to the emergency room and died.
Hoan Kiem District Police are coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire to resolve it according to legal regulations.
