The fire broke out at around 10:45 a.m. on September 12. The fire was at a small house in Thanh Loc Ward, District 12. At that time, people nearby saw black smoke rising high with a burning smell, so they shouted to each other to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful.
The house has a ground floor and first floor. When the fire broke out, the fire broke out on the ground floor, caught on flammable materials and continued to spread to the upper floors. A middle-aged woman who was in the house was rescued before the fire broke out. A few minutes later, the fire flared up fiercely.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of District 12 Police quickly mobilized fire trucks and many officers and soldiers to the scene to use water hoses to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading from many directions.
At the scene, firefighters had to pump water from the canal along Thanh Loc 17 Street to put out the fire. The woman was rescued and received medical assistance immediately. The fire occurred in a densely populated area, causing panic among many residents.
About 30 minutes later, the fire was basically under control. There were no casualties but a lot of property was burned down.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
