On the morning of June 22, leaders of Thien Nhan Commune People's Committee, Nghe An province confirmed that a large-scale forest fire had just occurred in the area, and functional forces are making efforts to control the fire.
According to initial information, the fire broke out from the afternoon of June 21 in the forest area in Thien Nhan commune. Due to hot weather and strong winds, the fire quickly spread and burned fiercely at night.

Leaders of Thien Nhan Commune People's Committee said that the locality has not yet statistically determined the area of forest burned. The area where the fire occurred was burned about 5-7 years ago, currently mainly reeds and vegetation, so the fire spread quickly.
Functional forces are making efforts to control the fire, not allowing it to spread to neighboring areas," the leader of Thien Nhan Commune People's Committee informed.
Immediately after discovering the fire, local authorities mobilized functional forces and people to participate in firefighting. However, due to the fire occurring in a forest area, difficult access terrain, plus hot and dry weather and strong winds, firefighting work encountered many obstacles.

According to local people, the fire broke out from the afternoon of June 21, then spread strongly. By the evening of the same day, many forest areas were still burning fiercely, and functional forces continued to deploy control measures overnight.
In recent days, the Central region has experienced a widespread heat wave, and the risk of forest fires in many localities has increased.
Functional agencies recommend that people be vigilant, do not burn vegetation, do not use fire in and along forests during prolonged hot weather, in order to limit the risk of forest fires spreading widely.
