On the afternoon of June 20, a leader of Ky Van Commune People's Committee informed that a tragic incident had just occurred in the area when a couple residing in Hong Xuan village died, suspected of being suffocated while fighting a forest fire in Tan Xuan village.
The victims' identities are Mr. Ho Van L (born 1969) and his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh H (born 1972, both residing in Hong Xuan village, Ky Van commune).
Initial information, at about 1 pm on the same day, while burning vegetation on the acacia forest land of the family, unfortunately a fire spread to the forest of another household next door.
Immediately after that, Mr. L and Mrs. H urgently extinguished the fire to limit damage. However, during the fire fighting process, both husband and wife died with suspicion of smoke inhalation.
Also according to the leader of Ky Van Commune People's Committee, after the incident occurred, Ky Van Commune Police and functional units urgently arrived at the scene to verify and investigate the cause.
