Hanoi City People's Committee has just issued a document on inspecting and handling press information reflecting factories "chopping up" the flood drainage corridor of the Nhue River.
The content reflects that in the area along the Nhue River section passing through Hanoi, a series of shacks and factories are growing close to the riverbank, along with garbage and materials piled up in disarray, narrowing the riverside space, posing a potential safety risk.
Regarding this matter, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of Tu Liem, Dai Mo wards and related units to urgently inspect, verify, clarify the content reflected in the press, and strictly handle violations according to legal regulations if they occur.
Along with that, consider the responsibilities of collectives and individuals according to Directive No. 09-CT/TU dated March 23, 2026 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee "On improving the effectiveness and efficiency of public service performance; tightening discipline, order and responsibility of officials, especially heads in the new development stage of Hanoi Capital" if violations occur.
Units report the implementation results to the City People's Committee before September 20.
