According to information from Phu Tho Provincial Police on September 11, Cam Khe District Police have just issued a decision to administratively sanction two citizens in the area for not complying with the direction and command of natural disaster prevention of competent agencies or persons in the field of natural disaster prevention, irrigation, and dykes.
Previously, when the storm and flood situation in the area became complicated, the water level of Thao River (Red River) rose rapidly, endangering people's lives and property, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Cam Khe district focused on propaganda, mobilization, and required some households in Cam Khe town to move to shore to ensure safety of life.
However, two citizens, Mr. D.T.T (born in 1993, in Phu Dong area, Cam Khe town) and Ms. N.T.T (born in 1973, in Thanh Cong area, Cam Khe town) deliberately disobeyed the instructions, escaped, and refused to come ashore.
Faced with the above situation, the District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention mobilized the district police force and the Military Command to search for many hours and bring the two citizens mentioned above to a safe area.
Accordingly, Cam Khe District Police have conducted work, verified, consolidated records, and issued a decision to administratively sanction the above two citizens with a fine of 4 million VND/person.
Similar to the incident of the two people being fined above, on September 10, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Risking their lives to rescue pigs from the floodwaters of the Red River", reflecting on the fact that many people, despite the danger, ignored the propaganda, warnings, and instructions of the authorities, went to the Red River when the floodwaters were high to rescue pigs and many properties floating on the river.
This is also a job that has many potential risks of drowning accidents, as this is a rare major flood in many years, authorities have tried to propagate and warn people to absolutely not collect firewood, fish, swim, or cross the river...
