Nghe An - Police and soldiers of Tam Thai commune cross 3 deep flooded bridges, taking a woman suspected of appendicitis to the emergency room.

On the morning of September 16, information from Tam Thai Commune People's Committee (Nghe An province) said that police and military forces had just supported bringing a resident suspected of acute appendicitis who crossed the floodwater area to a medical facility for emergency treatment.

Due to the impact of the tropical depression, in the past 3 days, heavy rain has occurred for a long time in Tam Thai commune, causing water in streams and creeks to rise. Strong currents appeared in some locations, causing the division of 7 inner villages with 631 households, more than 3,000 people. Two schools in the area were also affected due to traffic congestion.

At about 7 pm on September 15, Tam Thai commune authorities received a request for support from the family of Ms. Vi Thi S. (38 years old, residing in Phong village, Tam Thai commune). Ms. S. had severe abdominal pain, suspected of acute appendicitis, and needed to be taken to a medical facility soon.

Immediately after receiving the information, Tam Thai Commune Police coordinated with the Commune Military Command, militia and self-defense forces and forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level to find a plan to take the patient to the emergency room.

At this time, 3 overflow bridges on provincial road 541B towards the old Tam Hop commune area were flooded, with strong water flow. Seven villages are still divided, so movement is difficult and potentially dangerous.

At about 9:20 pm on the same day, functional forces stretched ropes to ensure safety, supporting Ms. S. to successively overcome 3 overflow bridges that were flooded, and then took her to Tuong Duong Medical Center for emergency treatment.

Faced with heavy rain, Tam Thai Commune People's Committee has requested functional forces, villages, and hamlets to continue to closely monitor weather developments and water levels in streams and creeks; review areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and proactive response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto.
