On June 25, An Giang Provincial Police organized a conference to summarize 1 year of implementing the 2-level local police organization model associated with new administrative boundaries and receiving new tasks; summarizing the work of preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity in the first 6 months of 2026; and at the same time organizing dialogues with the police of communes, wards, and special zones in the province in 2026.
Through practical implementation, the new organizational model has quickly gone into stable operation, clearly promoting efficiency, ensuring focused and unified leadership and direction from the province to the grassroots level; improving the quality and efficiency of all aspects of police work. The commune-level police force has gradually affirmed its core role in ensuring security and order, proactively grasping the local situation, promptly resolving problems arising right from the grassroots level, contributing to maintaining political stability, ensuring social order and safety, and effectively serving the socio-economic development tasks of the locality.

Regarding the work of preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity in the first 6 months of 2026, An Giang Provincial Police have focused on synchronously deploying solutions to prevent, detect and strictly handle violations according to the provisions of law. Political and ideological education, cadre management, tightening discipline and order; strengthening internal inspection and examination are carried out regularly and drastically. Thereby contributing to raising the sense of responsibility and spirit of serving the People of officers and soldiers; building An Giang Police force to be truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
Also at the conference, leaders of the Provincial Police organized direct dialogues with the Police of communes, wards, and special zones to promptly grasp the thoughts, aspirations, difficulties, and obstacles arising in the process of performing tasks at the grassroots level. With a spirit of democracy, frankness and responsibility, delegates focused on exchanging and proposing many contents related to ensuring security and order, building forces, professional work, regimes and policies, facilities and equipment serving work. Opinions and proposals were all directly answered by leaders of the Provincial Police, directing functional units to study and advise on timely removal, creating favorable conditions for grassroots police forces to successfully complete assigned tasks.
At the conference, authorized by the leaders of the Department of Police for Prison Management, Compulsory Education Institutions, Reformatory Schools, Major General Nguyen Van Han, Director of the Provincial Police, awarded Certificates of Merit from the Department to 4 individuals under the An Giang Provincial Police for outstanding achievements in coordinating and participating in the all-people movement to protect national security, contributing to ensuring security and social safety in the area. In order to recognize and commend the positive contributions of collectives and individuals in the process of implementing the 2-level local police organization model associated with new administrative boundaries and receiving new tasks, the Director of the Provincial Police decided to award Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 29 individuals with outstanding achievements.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Major General Nguyen Van Han, Director of the Provincial Police, acknowledged and praised the results and achievements that the Police of units and localities have achieved in the past time. The comrade emphasized that in the coming time, the entire Provincial Police force needs to continue to promote the effectiveness of the 2-level local police organization model; proactively grasp the situation, tightly manage the area and subjects; promptly resolve complex issues arising right from the grassroots level, not to be passive or surprised in any situation. At the same time, strengthen measures to prevent and combat corruption, wastefulness, and negativity; tighten discipline and order, improve the exemplary responsibility of officers and soldiers; promote administrative reform, apply science and technology, and digital transformation in police work; build the An Giang Police force to be united, unified, clean, and strong, meeting the requirements and tasks of ensuring security and order in the new period.
