Due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain from the night of June 30 to July 1, many localities in Lao Cai province experienced landslides, fallen trees, localized flooding and water overflowing bridges and spillways, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety.
Faced with complicated weather developments, the Lao Cai Provincial Police force mobilized officers and soldiers from grassroots levels to professional units to closely monitor the area, strengthen patrols, review key areas, promptly warn of dangers, support people and coordinate to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

In Cat Thinh, Coc Lau, Ta Cu Ty, Phuc Khanh, Mo Vang and Tan Linh communes, heavy rain caused many green trees to fall, soil and rocks from the embankment spilled onto the road surface, causing traffic obstruction and potential risk of continued landslides.
Immediately after discovering the incident, local police coordinated with authorities, forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level and people to urgently collect fallen trees, soil and rocks, stretch ropes, erect barriers and put up warning signs at dangerous points.

In Xuan Quang, Bao Nhai, Luc Yen and Lam Thuong communes, many areas were flooded, water overflowed bridges, culverts and spillways. The commune police have organized 24/24 hour checkpoints, stretched ropes, planted warning signs, and guided people and vehicles not to enter dangerous locations.
On key traffic routes, the Traffic Police Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police maintains patrols and inspections 24/24 hours to promptly detect and handle arising incidents.

At provincial road 161, Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 in coordination with Bao Thang Commune Police discovered a serious subsidence point and a location of a positive taluy landslide.
Functional forces quickly coordinated with the road management unit to stretch ropes, place warning signs, divert traffic and guide vehicles to circulate safely.

Meanwhile, on National Highway 4D through Sa Pa ward and Muong Khuong commune, working groups continuously patrol, handle fallen green trees, and clear soil and rocks overflowing onto the road surface.
At the same time, warning traffic participants at locations at risk of landslides, contributing to ensuring smooth traffic.

Before the forecast of continued heavy rain, Lao Cai Provincial Police recommends that people regularly monitor weather forecast information; absolutely do not pass through deep flooded areas, overflow bridges, underground overflows or locations where warning signs have been placed.
When detecting landslides, subsidence, fallen trees or unsafe situations, people need to quickly notify local authorities or the police force for timely handling, ensuring the safety of life and property.
