On April 21, information from the People's Committee of Thach Quang commune, Thanh Hoa province said that regarding the incident of drilled well water of households suddenly changing color, the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control Police (Ministry of Public Security) has coordinated with professional departments of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police to investigate and take water samples in the stream area to clarify.

Specifically, on the afternoon of April 20, the police force came to the factory area of BOB Hanoi Co., Ltd. (in Quang Trung village, Thach Quang commune) to inspect and take water samples in the wastewater discharge area to analyze and clarify the cause.
It is known that, related to the above incident, on April 20, Thach Quang Commune People's Committee issued a document requesting BOB Hanoi Co., Ltd. to immediately suspend washing operations at Thach Tuong Export Garment Factory to review and renovate the entire wastewater collection and treatment system, and overcome the situation of untreated wastewater flowing into the environment.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, recently, many households in Quang Trung village, Thach Quang commune discovered that drilled well water suddenly turned red-purple, accompanied by a foul odor.

According to people, this situation had happened before, but this time it is serious and prolonged. Not only is the color of the drilled well water changed, a similar phenomenon has also appeared at Bai Ron stream in the village.
After the incident occurred, people reported it to the local authorities and functional agencies. Upon receiving the information, functional forces checked and took water samples to verify and clarify.
Initially determined, the phenomenon of Bai Ron stream water and drilled well water of households changing color is related to the discharge incident of BOB Hanoi Co., Ltd. (textile, laundry sector) in the area.
