Despite entering the peak of the rainy season, erratic weather has greatly affected activities outside the construction site, but with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", thousands of engineers and workers on key transport projects in the Mekong Delta still work day and night, working overtime, and increasing shifts, determined to ensure progress according to plan.

Recorded at Dai Ngai 1 bridge under the Dai Ngai bridge construction project on National Highway 60 in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces (now Vinh Long province and Can Tho city), the construction pace has always been maintained urgently.
Mr. Trieu Van Toan - Deputy Construction Commander (Bac Trung Nam Construction Joint Stock Company) said that the unit is focusing on constructing T24 pillar - the main pillar of Dai Ngai 1 bridge with more than 150 engineers and workers working 3 consecutive shifts. Strive to complete all deposits before November 20, 2025, about 2 months ahead of schedule to switch to bridge deck construction.
Mr. Toan said that the construction site area is located near the estuary, often subjected to strong winds and tidal fluctuations. To ensure safety and stability during construction, the contractor mobilized large cranes, 5,000-ton barges and a special operating floor plan approved by the investor and the consulting unit, helping to control the impact of the tidal water level.

According to Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction) - the project investor, currently, on the entire construction site, construction units have mobilized more than 407 personnel, 141 machines and equipment and deployed 26 construction teams simultaneously. Of which, there are 22 bridge construction teams with a total of 43 technical staff, 282 workers and 120 equipment; along with 4 construction teams of auxiliary works, mobilizing 82 personnel and 21 specialized equipment.
Up to now, the road at both ends of the bridge has completed the construction of embankments, cement piles and is constructing the K95 foundation. Dai Ngai 1 Bridge alone has completed 85% of the volume of bored piles, 45% of the bridge piers and 24% of the Super-T girder, equivalent to 34% of output.
For Dai Ngai 2 Bridge, contractors have mobilized 83 personnel, 68 machines and equipment and deployed 13 construction teams. Currently, the main bridge has been completed, the access road items connecting National Highway 91B on the bank of Dai Ngai commune (Can Tho city) and District 10 road of An Thanh commune (Can Tho city) are expected to be completed in December 2025.
Similarly, at the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway construction site through Can Tho city, sudden rains did not interrupt the construction progress. The team of workers and engineers sometimes have to eat quickly under tarpaulins and raincoats before they can dry before they can return to work.

Mr. Phung Ngoc Manh, representative of Brigade 99, Corps 12, Truong Son Construction Corporation, said that the unit is constructing 3 bridges on the route. To ensure progress, the force was arranged to work in 3 shifts and 4 teams continuously, the construction site arranged enough temporary accommodation and accommodation for about 150 workers to preserve strength and maintain the number of workers.
According to the Management Board of Can Tho City Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Projects, the component project 2, 3, 4 of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway includes 11 construction packages, including 10 construction packages and 1 traffic safety system package. To date, the implementation volume of the 3 component projects has reached 45.09%. Of which, component project 2 reached 44.91%; component 3 reached 49.91%; component 4 reached 41.99%.

The Can Tho City Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the progress of basic bridge items is currently reaching and exceeding the plan, however, some sections are still slow due to limited initial sand gathering. Contractors are focusing on increasing human resources and equipment, speeding up the work of filling, loading and perfecting techniques to ensure progress according to the Resolution of the National Assembly and the Government.
