On August 30, Lao Cai Electricity Company informed that the accident occurred at around 12:10 on August 29 at the 0.4 kV line, Muong Lum transformer station in Muong Lum village, La Pan Tan commune, Muong Khuong district.
The victim was Mr. Pham Van T (born in 1969), a worker of the Ban Lau General Management Team under Muong Khuong Electricity (Lao Cai Electricity Company).
At the time of the accident, the working group of 2 people, Pham Van T and Dinh Van T, were checking the electricity bill of customer Sung Pao at column 2.17, route 2, 0.4 kV line after Sa San transformer station.
After completing the work, the working group agreed to go to an area with 4G signal to update work orders and field photos to the occupational safety management software (ECP).
While moving through column 1.6 - 1.7 of the 0.4kV line - Muong Lum transformer station, worker Pham Van T observed 2 bamboo bushes at risk of falling onto the line, so he stopped the vehicle to cut them down.
When it was cut, the bamboo fell onto the power line and the object hit the top of the worker's head, causing him to fall onto a nearby rock and become unconscious.
Immediately after the accident, people performed first aid and took Pham Van T to Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital, but the victim did not survive.
